The Inspirational Country Music Convention and Awards Show is a yearly event that draws music fans, broadcast media (radio, print, and TV) and the industries top artists to Nashville to showcase music and to discuss industry related issues. The member-voted ICM Awards Show is the keynote event of Inspirational Country Week. Juli London Comments: I attended this event along with Misty Greenwood and Kyle Long since their child was a finalist. What a great show! All our current heroes were here and many were performing. I heard a great story from Outback Tantrum's manager Clint Woods that made my day. An annonymous group of internet trolls attempted to knock the group down a few notches by writing outrageously false accusations and spreading defamatory rumors that the band was a front for a satanic cult of child eating cannibals. A Google search for the band showed a number of search results on Google's front page that referenced these despicable rumors. Clint was horrified and sicced his lawyers on the offending publishers only to learn they were based in Thailand and out of reach of US law. He then approached a reputation management firm that claimed they could remove the problem search results for a hefty fee. He rejected that offer once he realized the outsized cost. A friend of the band recommended a search guru who did search removals for many large concerns and was known to be an ethical practitioner of the search removal arts. But this person suggested that they not spend any money and actually speak directly to the rumors as if they were jokes. This strategy totally worked, as the band's fans completely disregarded the stories and the band even gained some notoriety as a result of all the press. Country music fans are super loyal, and any bogus attempt to disrupt this bond will likely fail.

2011-10-31 -   LADY ANTEBELLUM, JUSTIN MOORE, RICKY SKAGGS BIG WINNERS AT THE 17th ANNUAL INSPIRATIONAL COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS

Justin Moore, Lady Antebellum and Ricky Skaggs led the winners of the 2011 Inspirational Country Music Awards on Friday night. The Nashville ceremony -- hosted by GAC's Storme Warren and 'Inside Edition's' Megan Alexander -- not only honored country artists whose music serves a greater purpose, but it also benefited breast cancer awareness.

Skaggs took home the night's big honor, winning the Entertainer of the Year award. Lady Antebellum won the Video of the Year award. Dave Haywood accepted on behalf of the band.

"This was a really emotional song and definitely the most dramatic video we've ever made," he said. "We are honored with the recognition from the Inspirational Country Music Award voters and we just appreciate the support of our fans."

Moore was another of the big winners, taking home the trophy for Mainstream Inspirational Country Song. “This song is a gift from God,” Moore said, accepting the honor. “I can’t think of a better way and a better place to win my first ever award, so thank you very much and God bless you guys.”

Each of the 21 awards came with a pink ribbon tied around it, a nod to the Inspirational Country Music Association's highly publicized campaign to benefit the Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition. Before the show, the stars walked down a pink carpet in tribute to the lives of Middle Tennessee breast cancer survivors.
